Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso granted Prajnaparamita empowerment in Portugal in 2013, and Gen Rigpa will share this empowerment and transmit Venerable Geshe-la’s teachings associated with it in this special weekend event.
On Sunday, within a brief yet powerful practice called The Great Mother, we will recite the Heart Sutra and meditate on emptiness. This is a special method to overcome obstacles and dangers.
We will also receive commentary from Gen Rigpa about the practice of The Great Mother.
What is an empowerment?
An empowerment is a teaching and series of guided meditations through which we make a connection with a particular Buddha. It bestows upon us special blessings that heal our mind and awaken our Buddha nature.
Who is Prajnaparamita?
Prajnaparamita is the manifestation of the Buddha’s perfection of wisdom. Her function is to overcome maras—the outer and inner obstructing demons—and to bestow the realization of the higher perfection of wisdom, the realization of ultimate truth emptiness.
