Offering our Faith

Saturday, June 4
Guided Retreat with Gen Rigpa

On June 4, Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day, we celebrate the 91st birthday of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

Every day we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe-la, our Root Guru and Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition, but on this auspicious day, with minds of rejoicing and gratitude, we will offer him our faith through using the special prayer Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from his Faithful Disciples and collecting our Guru’s name mantra in a one-day retreat.

In the morning, the retreat will begin with Offering to the Spiritual Guide for long life.

Then, there will be two sessions of retreat using the sadhana The Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land According to Highest Yoga Tantra and the special request prayer.

SESSION TIMES
Offering to the Spiritual Guide Chanted Prayers: 7:30-9:00am
Session 1 : 9:30-10:45am
Session 2: 11:15-12:30pm

Everyone is welcome

Community is important to us. The way of being at the Center exemplifies how Kadampa Buddhist practices and modern life go hand in hand. We integrate the teachings we receive into the activities and dialogue that make up our Center life. It feels simple, harmonious and easy to enjoy your inner and outer environment.

Our Founder and Spiritual Teacher Geshe Kelsang Gyatso often says, "everyone welcome!" Yes, everyone is welcome to join the Center, its classes, events and practices regardless of faith, ethnicity, gender and so on. We know that everyone benefits from Buddha's teachings and we're delighted to have our doors open to help make that happen.
