In this course you will explore:
– What it means to be a modern “Bodhisattva”
– How to abandon the 18 root and 46 secondary downfalls of a Bodhisattva
– How to integrate the practice of the Six Perfections into your daily life
Many people have the compassionate wish to benefit others, but few understand how to accomplish this successfully in daily life. Bodhisattvas are “friends of the world,” who have such strong compassion that they are able to transform all their daily activities into ways of benefitting others. The path of the Bodhisattva is contained within a practice called the Six Perfections. In this special weekend course we will learn practical ways to apply the Six Perfections in and out of meditation. This is essential advice for those wishing to follow a way of life characterized by greater empathy and compassion for others. At the end of the course, we’ll have the precious opportunity to take the Bodhisattva Vow.
This course will be based on the book The Bodhisattva Vow by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
No previous experience of Buddhism or meditation is required. Everyone is welcome!
