PASADENA Wed GP: Empower Your Life with Love 11-15

November 15 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

PASADENA: Empower Your Life with Love
Wednesdays, Oct 25 – Dec 13,    7-8pm
Part of a 7-week series with Buddhist Teacher Terry Schneider

Ahiah Center For Spiritual Living Pasadena
150 N El Molino Ave, Pasadena, CA 91101

11/15 Topic: “Increase the Power of Your Love”

The Five Forces are five practical tools Buddha taught that give power to our spiritual practice and help us to integrate mind training into our daily life. This makes them especially important for modern people, because the real beauty of Kadampa practice is in bringing together meditation and daily activities.

There’s no need to set ourselves apart from the world in order to train our mind. We are encouraged to use every aspect of our life as an opportunity to deepen our spiritual experience.

  • Do you enjoy psychology and exploring your mind?
  • Are you looking for fresh ideas that will give you more purpose and direction?
  • Do you want to learn how to meditate effectively?

No meditation experience necessary; everyone is welcome!

About Classes at Kadampa Meditation Center LA & our Branch classes

General Program (GP) classes are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Although classes are given in a series around one specific theme, they are drop-in in nature and can be taken individually, as each class topic is self-contained.

The classes are designed to help those looking for Buddhist wisdom to help with stress relief and relaxation, as well as those interested in exploring the nature of the mind, and pursuing the Buddhist path.Classes explore the basic framework of Buddhist teachings and meditation and explain how to use Buddha’s advice in our daily lives to solve our problems. All General Program classes are based on commentaries by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

A typical class consists of a guided relaxation meditation, a teaching based on the meditation topic, and final contemplative meditation. Branch classes last approximately 1 hour. Chairs and cushions are provided. No special clothing is required, and there is no physical exercise, yoga, or stretching involved.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of belief; you do not need to be Buddhist to attend.
